If you are an explorer, and you don’t care much for the food except its hygiene and cost, then you can cut out a huge part of your food expenditure. Avoid restaurants at any cost except maybe for an occasional treat. Instant noodles and Cupa noodles can be your best friend. And local foods and street food might just make your vacation much exotic and cheaper.

Another big-time issue that puts a dent on your budget is the transport. Rent a car and taxi are two luxuries you have to live without if you want travel to be much cheaper. On the other hand, local public transports are your best friends. Local bus, metro, share auto why even horse buggies. They give you a wide experience and are much cheaper.

The ultimate tip to make all the above tips become reality is to pack lighter. Skip packing expensive stuff at all cost. I know, we want to dust off those exotic expensive dresses and jewels on our vacation. But if you are really intent on travelling cheaper, take nothing more than what you can carry around. Have the essentials like your passport and money on you at all cost. You don’t have to book rooms just to store your luggage safely. You can check in for the night and check out after breakfast.
